SECURITY

Montego Pet Nutrition operates two distinct security arrangements to ensure consistent protection across all sites.

At the Graaff-Reinet facility, security is managed by an internal, in-house security team. At all other locations, security functions are performed by appointed third-party service providers. Regardless of the service model, all security personnel act under the authority of Montego Pet Nutrition and are required to enforce company policies and procedures at all times.

Security personnel are responsible for maintaining strict access control and ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, property, and information. All persons, vehicles, and equipment entering or exiting any Montego Pet Nutrition premises may be subject to search. CCTV surveillance systems are installed across sites and are actively monitored. Alarm systems are in place at all facilities and are monitored to ensure rapid response to any incidents.

Security personnel control access and exit points and regulate the movement of vehicles on site. They are authorised to conduct searches, enforce access protocols, and manage contractor entry and activities in line with company requirements. Where necessary and in accordance with applicable legislation, security personnel may detain individuals and must immediately report incidents, irregularities, accidents, or breaches to management.

They are also authorised to confiscate prohibited or unauthorised items and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are taken.

In the absence of management, security personnel are responsible for maintaining control of the site in accordance with established procedures and instructions. They are required to carry out drug and alcohol testing where applicable, monitor compliance with site rules, and ensure adherence to all safety and security standards.

Security personnel play a key role in identifying risks and hazards, conducting ongoing threat analysis, and implementing appropriate measures to prevent and mitigate potential security threats. All employees, contractors, and visitors are required to comply with instructions issued by security personnel at all times. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
